About IIT Dhanbad Junior Assistant Recruitment: –
Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad formerly known as Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad. The Institute invites Indian citizens to submit applications for the appointment of non-teaching positions (junior assistant). The total number of vacancies is 73. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for this recruitment. The Opening of the online application form submission is July 15, 2021 and the deadline for submitting the online application is August 31, 2021.
IIT Dhanbad Junior Assistant Recruitment Selection process: –
The selection process will be as follows:
- Part A: Selection test (qualifying nature):
- Part B: Commercial test (qualifying nature)
- Part C: Main Exam:
- Step II: Computer proficiency test (MS-Word, Excel and Power Point)
Part A: Selection test (qualifying nature)
- The exam will be a screening test (target type).
- The exam will be 100 points.
Eligible candidates based on their educational qualification and age will be called to appear in the Selection Test to pre-select candidates for the Main Exam. Based on the candidates’ performance in the selection test, ten times the total number of vacancies (i.e. 730) will be shortlisted for the next round of the selection process. If the number of candidates of the reserved category in the shortlisted candidate list is not adequate (i.e. approximately 10 times the number of vacancies for the respective category), the cut-off marks for that reserved category / categories may be reduced below the limit for UR Category, subject to obtaining the minimum qualifying mark.
Part B: Commercial test (qualifying nature)
Candidates shortlisted on the basis of the selection test will be summoned to appear in the business test comprising the speed of typing and the test of computer skills. In the typing speed test, candidates will be given a typing subject and asked to reproduce it on computers. In the skill test, the candidate’s ability to format (alignment, font size, font type, indentation, uppercase to lowercase or lowercase to uppercase, case of sentence) insert page number, images, shapes, hyperlinks, creation and table format, etc. in a Word file it will be tested.
Part C: Main Exam
Written exam

Computer proficiency test
Candidates must have knowledge of MS-Word, Excel and Power Point
Candidates after appearing in the Commercial Test will be called to appear in the Written Test, Computer Proficiency Test. Only the answer sheets of candidates qualified in the Trade Test will be evaluated.
The final list of merits of the candidates will be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in the written test and the computer proficiency test.
The Selection Committee will decide the minimum marks / qualification standards for the aforementioned tests, which will be final.
