About Recruitment of Fellow Merchants of the Indian Navy:-

The Indian Navy invites applications to fill 112 positions from eligible candidates to apply ONLINE through the website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in for the position of Tradesman Mate classified as Group ‘C’, ‘Industrial’ in various Commands (application in other forms of shipments by mail will not be accepted). Successful candidates will normally have to serve in the Units under the administrative control of the respective Commands, however, they may be posted anywhere in India, in naval units/formations as per administrative requirements. Candidates can apply from 06.08.2022 to 06.08.2022.

About the exam:-

The Indian Navy will review all applications registered online, as per the eligibility criteria and terms and conditions specified by the Government of India from time to time. The mere fulfillment of the basic selection criteria does not automatically entitle a person/candidate to be summoned for the online test.

Examination Center:-

The list of exam cities for different states has been indicated in the filling instructions and the choice options are available in the application form. Candidates must choose any of the three city options on the list. The Indian Navy reserves the right to cancel/retake the exam for a particular center or assign/change the candidate’s city beyond the options indicated by the candidates for administrative or other reasons. In case there are more candidates for a city, some candidates can be assigned to any other city. The request to change the city/centre/date/examination call will not be attended to in any case.

All shortlisted/eligible candidates will be required to sit the online computer-based exam consisting of objective type questions based on essential qualifications as mentioned in paragraph 5 above i.e. Matriculation and ITI both in English and Hindi (except general English) covering aspects as below :-

Exam Syllabus:-

The detailed syllabus is available on the naval website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in under the filling instructions. The indicative program is as follows:-

General Intelligence and Reasoning.

It would include questions related to math operations, series, odd, logical Venn diagrams, analogy, word-based problems, problem solving, drawing inference, encoding-decoding, nonverbal reasoning, etc.

Quantitative ability.

This document will include questions on problems related to number systems, time and work, measurement, ratio and proportion, average, profit and loss, discounting, percentage, time and distance, simple and compound interest, statistical graphing, trigonometry, geometry, etc.

General English and Comprehension:

As well as tests the candidates’ understanding of the English language, its vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, comprehension and its correct usage, etc.

Overall Awareness:

The test will include questions related to India and its neighboring countries, especially related to sports, history, culture, geography, physics, chemistry, computer science, environmental science, economic outlook, current events, general politics, including the Indian constitution and scientific research, etc. the questions will be such that they do not require special study of any discipline.
