About the exam:
Jammu and Kashmir Police Recruitment Board Soon he will take the Written Examination for Sub-Inspector Positions. - The written test will be of a multiple choice objective type.
- The question will be based on graduation level.
- Questions will be set in English only.
- There will be a negative score of 0.25 points for each wrong answer.

Physical Resistance Test (PET)
For male candidates:
- long race – 1600 meters in 06 minutes 30 seconds.
- Lizards – 20 (one up and down cycle is counted as one).
For candidates –
- long race: 1000 meters in 61/2 minutes (Six minutes and thirty seconds)
- Shot put (4Kgs): 141/2 feet in three attempts
Special provision regarding relaxation in Physical Resistance Tests for Ex-Service:
- For male candidates-
- Age up to 30 years:
- long race – 1600 meters -6½ minutes. (Six minutes and 30 seconds)
- Lizards – 20 (one cycle of up and down to count as one)
- Age-Over 30-40 years:
- long race – 1600 meters-7½ Minutes (Seven minutes and 30 seconds)
- Lizards – 16 (a cycle of up and down is counted as one)
- Age-Over 40 years:
- long race – 1600 meters- 8½ Minutes (Eight Minutes thirty seconds)
- Lizards – 12 (a cycle of up and down is counted as one)
- Age up to 30 years:
- For candidates:
- Age-Up to 30 years:
- long race – 1000 meters -6½ Minutes (Six Minutes thirty seconds)
- Shot put (4kg) – 14½ Feet in three attempts.
- Age-Over 30 to 40 years:
- long race – 1000 meters-7½ minutes (seven minutes thirty seconds)
- Shot put (4kg) – 12½ Feet in three attempts.
- Age-Over 40 years:
- long race – 1000 Meters-8½ minutes (Eight Minutes thirty seconds)
- Shot put (4 kgs) – 10½ feet in three attempts.
- Age-Up to 30 years:
Note: The Standard Physical Test and the Physical Resistance Test will only be of a qualifying nature, for which the Services Selection Board will set up a committee, in consultation with the Ministry of the Interior.
Medical exam
The selected candidates, with reference to the vacancies, will be medically examined to assess their physical and medical fitness. The medical examination will be carried out by the SSB before sending the selection list to the Government according to the rules.
