About Karnataka school education

There are three types of schools in Karnataka: government (government-run), self-help (financial aid is provided by the government), and private unaided (financial aid is not provided). In most of these schools, the medium of instruction is English or Kannada. The curriculum taught in schools is that of the CBSE, ICSE, NIOS, or the state curriculum. The curriculum includes subjects such as science, social studies, and mathematics in addition to language-related subjects. To maximize attendance, the Karnataka Government has launched a noon meal plan in the government and assisted schools where free lunch is offered to students.

Teacher Eligibility Test

The teacher eligibility test, known as TET, is the minimum qualification required in India for a person to be eligible to be appointed as a teacher for classes I to VIII. The exam is mandatory to teach jobs in Indian government schools. There are two documents: Document 1, for teachers of classes I to V, and Document 2 for classes VI to VIII. TET is carried out by both central and state governments in India. Most states carry out their own TET. The test is conducted to meet the objectives of the Children’s Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009.
