About Meghalaya Board:-

The Meghalaya School of Education Board (MBOSE) was configured according to Meghalaya School Board of Education Law of 1973, to regulate, control and supervise matters related to School Education in the state of Meghalaya, India. Initially, it was established to control the SSLC exam until North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) suspended the college degree in 1996.

The Board is responsible for conducting the High School Certificate of Completion (SSLC) as well as the State High School Completion Certificate (HSSLC) Examination. Initially, it began working in the Office of the Director of Public Instruction, Shillong, which was later transferred to Araimile, Tura in 1974. MBOSE also has a regional office located in the Shillong state capital. Currently, there are around 1,400 affiliated schools spread across the Meghalaya state.
