Preliminary written test
WB Police SI Exam pattern:
Here is the exam pattern is shown below:
- the Previous examination (screening test) will be the type of goal written.
- A preliminary examination to be performed on General studies, logical and analytical reasoning, and arithmetic.
- A preliminary examination will consist of total of 200 brands.

- The duration of the exam is 90 minutes.
- There will be a negative marking for each incorrect answer in the preliminary examination. ¼ of the assigned marks for a particular question it will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
- The preliminary examination will be either an OMR-based MCQ-type exam or a computer-based online test (CBT), depending on the number of applicants and other administrative factors. In the case of OMR based exam, the question paper will be placed in two languages (English and Bengali) and in the case of a Computer-based online test (CBT), there will be a Window of 15 (fifteen) days before the date of the exam for test / mock practice.
Note: The qualifications obtained by the candidate in the preliminary examination will not be counted for the purpose of determining the final list of merits.

General Studies and Arithmetic: –
- General studies:- Questions will be sent to test the general knowledge of the candidates in different fields.
- Logical and analytical reasoning: – Questions will be established to test the candidate’s logical and analytical ability.
- Arithmetic: – Questions will be formulated on the basis of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education Board Madhyamik Exam curriculum.

Combined final competitive exam
Exam pattern: Here is the exam pattern shown below:
- The final combined competitive exam will consist of three conventional question papers.
- The exam will be 200 points.
- Role-I: – General studies and arithmetic for 100 points (50 points for general studies and 25 points for logical and analytical reasoning and 25 points for arithmetic) of 2 (two) hours duration.
- Paper-II: – English of 50 points of 1 (one) hour duration.
- Document III: – Bengali / Hindi / Urdu / Nepali of 50 marks of 1 (one) hour duration.
Note: The written examination of the previous three jobs of the combined final competitive exam will be held on the same day at selected sites as decided by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board.
Note: The role of questions for Test I (general studies and arithmetic) of the combined final competitive exam will be set in three languages (English, Bengali, and Nepali). The candidate can respond in any of these languages, but all responses must be in the same language.
WB Police SI Syllabus 2021: The exam program will be as follows:
Work I: General studies and arithmetic: –
- General studies: Questions will be established to test the candidate’s general knowledge in different areas.
- Logical and analytical reasoning: Questions will be established to test the logical and analytical ability of the candidates.
- Arithmetic: The questions will be formulated on the basis of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education Board Madhyamik exam program.
Document II – English: Questions can be asked about all or any of the following:
- Writing a report from the points or materials provided,
- Translation from Bengali / Hindi / Urdu / Nepali, as appropriate, into English,
- Condensation of a passage in prose (summary/summary),
- Correct use of words, correction of sentences, use of common phrases, synonyms, and antonyms, etc.
Document III – Bengali / Nepali / Hindi / Urdu: Questions can be asked about all or any of the following:
- Writing a report from the points or materials provided,
- Translation from English to Bengali and from English to Nepali for candidates who have chosen ‘Bengali’ or ‘Nepali’ respectively and translation from Hindi / Urdu to Bengali for candidates who have chosen Hindi or Urdu.
- The translation will be 20 (twenty) points.
Personality test
- A limited number of candidates selected on the basis of their merits based on the results of the Combined Final Competitive Examination will be summoned to take the Personality Test.
- The personality test will consist of a total of 30 points.
- The minimum grade to pass the personality test will be 08 (eight).
- Candidates who do not obtain a minimum passing grade in the personality test will be disqualified regardless of the marks obtained in the combined final competitive exam.
